Residents relax in their new home at Lucas House.

The Lucas House is up and running! Our first residents, Adam, Julie, Emily and Peter moved in Labor Day weekend! All four are working at Beaver Farm and we are so proud to be able to offer them this opportunity to work and live with us.
The “Lucas House” will allow our students to prepare for their entry into the local community upon graduation. Fully 75% of our graduates move into group homes or “community living arrangements”, with the majority receiving Home and Community Based Funds from Medicaid. Those houses, like 311 Lucas Road, are out in the community, surrounded by neighbors and busy roads. Our students, used to being able to borrow milk from the house next door, or ask for help from supportive staff, will have to learn to safely fend for themselves as they navigate the local community.
