On Tuesday, November 29,november29 2016, Camphill Special School is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving. Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday. This will be our fourth year, and we’re hoping you’ll take part and help encourage giving this November 29th.

Over the last three years we’ve seen significant increases on this day; we raised $7,000 in 2013, $15,000 in 2014, and nearly $24,000 in 2015-and that’s before accounting for matching gifts! It is exciting to see people sharing our story, and we’ve been fortunate to see an increase in first-time donors! Those who are just learning about the school often continue to stay connected and involved. As you can imagine, this is one of those times where your use of social media can make a real impact:

  1. Help spread the word: We’ll have lots of posts that you can share via social media. Use the hashtag #GivingTuesdayCSS when posting on social media so we can track our reach, retweet, and see who is talking about their love and support of the school.
  2. Make a donation in honor of a friend: In addition to being a kind gesture, it’s a great way to introduce others to Camphill Special School. The honoree will receive a letter notifying them of your gift, and future mailings from us; hopefully they will become donors themselves!
  3. Ask your friends to give to Camphill instead of buying you another fruitcake: Consider asking friends and family to make a gift to the school in your honor.

We encourage you to spread the word so that 2016 is our best #GivingTuesday yet!
